‘I’m flattered that they find it that important,’ he says of media and fan response to new look.

“I was just talking about it with my makeup artist, who helped me shave a tiny piece of my hairstyle — it’s just 3 inches up the side of head! And it’s not bald, just very short,” Lambert laughed during a conference call Friday (June 18). “I didn’t think that was newsworthy! It caught me off guard and made me laugh that E! Online and MTV and People wanted to report on it. I’m flattered that they find it that important.”

Uh, you’re welcome! And even though plenty of websites — not to mention a large portion of his rather rabid fanbase — were sent into a panic by Lambert’s new look, he was quick to point out that he didn’t really see it as that drastic of a departure … or even much of a fashion statement, really.

Matt: Is there anything you can talk about for the MMVAs [airing this Sunday on MuchMusic]?

Adam: It’s going to be ‘Whataya Want From Me’ — I was nominated for a music video award for that song, so I’m going to be performing that.

How do you choose your Glam Nation encore? Do you just wake up every morning and pick, or is it something you decide on in the moment?

We kind of just decide in the moment. We usually just go onstage and look at the band and say ‘what do you think’? (Laughs.) Although it might start becoming more and more of routine where we do both ['Mad World' and 'Whole Lotta Love'].

So I asked for a favour yesterday and so many of you responded!  I’m asking another.  I’m going to be a bit pressed for time for the next week.  I have an Adam friend who just arrived to stay with me for four days and attend the Wham Bam performance on Saturday. She has not been to Toronto before and I’m planning to show her a great time! 

Once she leaves, I have one day and then I leave for Foxwoods to meet up with twelve Adam friends.  I’m going to do my best to post my blog every day but they may need a bit of help.  So I’m asking those of you who love to look around to help out those of you who rely on my blog to be informed.

 I need your help… Here’s the short version!   

I entered a contest to win meet and greet tickets for Adam and tickets to the concert in Upper Darby.  A couple of days ago I got an email telling me I was not eligible cause I live in Canada and not in the Philly area!

 “I’ve always loved the big pop tours — people like Michael Jackson, Madonna,” explains Lambert, 28, who recently debuted the video for his latest single, “If I Had You.” 

“I like people that put on a show, that take their music and create their visual and a story and a theme … 

“That’s something that’s really important to me. Also, I think my background in musical theater came into play a lot with this production. I wanted it to be first and foremost about the music; second is giving the audience something to look at.” 

Lambert describes the “Glam Nation” production as “visually inspired by kind of like a blend of turn of the century New Orleans meets psychedelic classic rock, kind of a voodoo, crystal ball, magic kind of look (with) a lot of psychedelic kind of classic rock visual references — Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Keith Richards.” The show is presented in three distinct parts, incorporating video and choreography with a mid-concert acoustic segment and “a surprise cover
